Wow. It's a little spooky to discover your fictional characters are inhabiting someone's reality. I guess his mastery of physics helped his aim! Thanks for dropping by.

Welcome to SSS! Great scene, could totally see it-- I had a HS physics teacher who used to keep a chalkboard eraser reallllllly filled with chalk dust and if someone fell asleep, he'd expertly throw it so it landed on the table right in front of you and you were sprayed with chalk dust. Happened to me only once.

Thanks, M. That odd juxtaposing of empowerment and helplessness is what attracts me to YA. It's the first time in most people's lives when they're asked to take charge and be responsible, but given so many boundaries and rules to play by. If I can capture that in my writing I'll be happy.

The guest post is at Nicole Pyles The World of my Imagination, called FictionFears http://theworldofmyimagination.blogspot.com/search?q=Fiction+Fears.

If copying and pasting the link into the, well, bar above doesn't work, let me know and I'll just e-mail it to you. Also, the article about imagination was really interesting. The site is on my netbook, but I can get it for you if you'd like.

Would you ever like to do a guest post about a writer techie-thing for my blog?

I'm constantly amazed at the situations other writers come up with to writer about. I'd like to see that post when you finish it.

I think you're right about creatives looking at different ways to solve problems, or, for writers, to connect situations and incidents we see around us. For a guest post I started researching imagination, and learned it isn't used just for making stuff up, but allows us to make sense of our surroundings, and re-experience our past. I was amazed by that. We truly do use our imagination every day.
